Meet Dr. Roper

Dr. Erik Roper was born in Miami, Florida and was raised in Vienna, Virginia. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Bridgewater College before moving to Richmond to study Dentistry at the Medical College of Virginia. Upon graduation, Dr. Roper joined the United States Air Force Dental Corps, where he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency (AEGD).

Through the residency, he became quite proficient in advanced dental techniques, particularly in the utilization of conscious sedation for surgery and general dentistry. After living in Texas and South Carolina with the Air Force, Dr. Roper was pleased to join W. Baxter Perkinson, Jr., D.D.S. and Associates at the Mechanicsville location and has been there since 1994.  He is very committed to continuing education, having earned more than 500 CE (continuing education) hours. In July 2003, Dr. Roper was presented with the Fellowship award from the Academy of General Dentistry. Also committed to organized dentistry, Dr. Roper is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, and the Richmond Dental Society.
